Post Spring Break Update

By now, you should have received an e-mail from Mrs. Demaio about the rest of the year, and the upcoming plan. We have a staff meeting on Wednesday to finalize the details.

Here's the details from the newsletter for Personal Finance

If seniors had a passing grade (>60%) as of March 11, 2020, they will receive a passing grade for the class.
- The grade they receive will be the grade they currently had in class
- Students will be able to re-submit work, or complete any work that was missing in order to boost their grade, should they choose to do so.
- Any tests that have been missed due to absences will need to be made up as well, those will be e-mailed to those that are missing it to take as a take-home test.
- If the failure was due to excused absences prior to March 11, 2020, and missing work stemming from those absences, students will be able to complete that work to bring their grade up.
If a senior had a failing grade (<60%) as of March 11, 2020, students will be required to complete an "exit project" in order to show proficiency to pass their class.
- This project will be posted on my website, tbrinks.buchananschools.com and will be e-mailed to the students' BHS email address, by April 22nd, 2020, to be due by May 15th, 2020
- A paper copy can be sent/mailed upon request.

I will be personally in touch with those of you who need to complete the project.

Week 1 School Shutdown Update

Hello, Personal Finance,

I know that what is happening right now is unprecedented, and we are all unsure about what the next steps are and what will be happening. I hope you are all staying safe and healthy in these times. We are going to be unable to complete everything that we set out to complete in Personal Finance this year. When we come back to school, I will make sure that we focus on the most important parts to come so that I can accomplish my goal of doing my best to get you prepared for "adulthood" and the financial things that you need to be aware of. In light of that, I am going to be posting some things for you to look at during your time while we are out of the classroom for you to look over. As with other classes, this is for extension learning (not for a grade), but it is still things that were important enough to be included in our regular instruction.
